Björk's Cornucopia // LOSSS original illustration

Fan art created in occasion of Björk's Cornucopia residency show, that will have its European première on 13 November 2019 in Brussels.

The illustration, available as a poster, takes ispiration from Björk's song "Losss" (Utopia, 2017), which is a continuation of the themes on her previous album Vulnicura, exploring her experiences with personal loss and extrapolating them on a grander scale.

In particular, Björk sings that "the past is bondage", represented in my illustration by the laces she is trying to untie, in order to conquer that freedom which she defines "aphrodisiac", while there are ribbons that Björk has tied on her ankles for love (as she sings).

The orchids, also mentioned in Losss lyrics, are a tribute to Olivier Rousteing's dress that Björk wore for Cornucopia shows in Mexico City, and the headpiece, which is a reference to the "spine curved erotically", was designed by James Merry for the same shows.
